Dutch bank ING to slash 7,000 jobs, close branches

Dutch banking group ING plans to cut nearly 7,000 jobs in in Belgium and the Netherlands to focus on online services.

By 2,021, 3,500 full-time jobs would be slashed in Belgium and 2,300 in the Netherlands. Another 1,000 would be lost among ING's external suppliers.

Some 1,250 ING and Record Bank agencies in Belgium are to close.
