Duolingo announced it would replace some contract work with artificial intelligence.
Co-founder and CEO Luis von Ahn reportedly said in an email to staff that the company would “gradually stop using contractors to do work that AI can handle."
The company is moving to an "AI-first" model, von Ahn said, meaning the business will "need to rethink much of how we work."
