A member of the Dunn family has headed up Kansas-City based J.E. Dunn Construction Co. for all of its 89-year history – but not anymore.
According to a breaking news report from the Kansas City Business Journal, CEO Terry Dunn is stepping down from day-to-day leadership. Gordon Lansford III is taking over as president and CEO. Lansford has been J.E. Dunn's chief financial officer for 15 years and has been at the company for 17 years. Dunn will remain CEO of J.E. Dunn Construction Group, the parent company.
Dunn has been with the company since 1974. His father, William Dunn, is company chairman emeritus, and his brother Steve Dunn is chairman.
Bill Dunn Jr. will also retire as executive vice president after 39 years in accordance with the company's set retirement age for Dunn family members, the KCBJ reports.
J.E. Dunn is responsible for KC landmarks such as the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and maintains a Springfield office. The company was named lead general contractor as part of the Project Team of the Year during the 2013 Salute to Design and Construction banquet, according to
