Duck Creek Technologies expands to Europe via acquisition

Posted online
Bolivar, Mo.-based Duck Creek Technologies Inc., a provider of software and services to the insurance industry, announced last week it acquired a European company founded in 2007 to introduce its products to the European market.

The company announced July 14 it had acquired Duck Creek Technologies Europe Ltd. of West Byfleet in the United Kingdom, according to a news release.

Duck Creek Europe was founded in 2007 and has worked as a separate entity side-by-side with Duck Creek Technologies Inc. over the years, the release said.

Duck Creek Europe managing director Tony O'Halloran said in the release he is optimistic about the acquisition.

"I’m proud of the work that the Duck Creek teams have done to move forward as a united corporation. We have worked closely together for the last three years and know this will be a seamless transition," he said. "We look forward to our continued success."

Duck Creek Technologies Inc. also has offices in Connecticut and South Carolina. With the acquisition of Duck Creek Europe, the company will serve customers in the United States, Canada and Europe.

"We’ve found that European carriers are facing the same challenges as our U.S. and Canadian customers. They must have the ability to adapt quickly to market changes and new opportunities," Duck Creek CEO and President Steve Hall said in the release. "Our solutions are a great match for their needs, whether they are start-ups or established carriers processing billion-dollar books of business."

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.[[In-content Ad]]
