The win qualifies the team for participation in the SIFE USA National Exposition in Dallas in May. The team also received $3,500 and was named one of 20 finalists nationwide in two special topics competitions that address economic education and business ethics.
The competition was based on the effectiveness of each SIFE team's projects completed in the last year. Drury's team conducted 39 projects and presented details on nine of them at the competition. Those projects included B-Cubed, a board game designed for teachers to help children understand business principles; DSIFE Inc., a small-business incubator; and Avenue 33, a consignment boutique run by Drury SIFE students.
Drury SIFE has been named national champions three times and World Cup champions twice.
Meanwhile, Evangel University's SIFE team is competing at a SIFE regional event in Dallas through Thursday. A win there could qualify Evangel for the national competition in May, as well.
Ozark Technical Community College's SIFE team was named a regional championship in Cleveland last week and also will be at the national competition in May.
