Drury's Students in Free Enterprise team is headed to national competition for the 13th consecutive year.
The team won the regional championship at a Tuesday competition in Rogers, Ark., qualifying the team for the national event in Minneapolis in May.
Students in Free Enterprise is a nonprofit organization, encouraging student teams to develop projects to help create economic opportunity by teaching free market economics, business ethics, entrepreneurship and personal finance, according to a news release.
Drury's team also was a finalist in two special topic competitions. The Ozarks Carbon Exchange Fund project was one of 20 finalists in the environmental sustainability category, while the Women Inspiring Student Endeavors project was a finalist in the Success Skills category. The team receives $1,000 for each of those awards, and it will compete at the national event in those categories as well.
Drury won the national championship in 2001, 2003 and 2005 and won the SIFE World Cup in 2001 and 2003. The team was runner-up in the 2009 national event.
