Tristan Davies moved to Springfield in 1997 and worked as a reporter and producer for KY3 before taking the Drury job in April 2000. He and his wife, Janet Encarnacion, grew up in Massachusetts and wanted to return to be closer to family.
Davies, who also has a background in science, will work as associate director of communications for science in Harvard’s Office of Alumni Affairs and Development.
Davies calls his time at Drury wonderful and says it helped him find a home in Springfield.
“Being at Drury has just shown me so much about the importance of cooperating and collaborating and listening and respecting everyone you work with,” he said.
“There’s just really this wonderful spirit of community at Drury.”
A search committee has been formed to find Davies’ replacement. Holly Guerreiro, the school’s assistant director for marketing, will serve as interim director until the position is filled.
