Drury University this week was gifted its four-year Monett home for continuing professional studies.
Valued at $522,500, the 23,000-square-foot facility was donated by Glen and Sharon Garrett. Drury, which began offering classes in Monett in 2007, moved to the current building at 400 Fourth St. in 2011, according to a news release.
“This generous donation by the Garretts will provide Drury University the opportunity to expand the services we currently offer to students in the Monett area, both in terms of physical space and number of classes,” Drury President David Manuel said in the release.
The college of continuing professional studies campus offers associate degree programs in leadership studies, health science and psychology, among others. Through a combination of online and evening classes, students can fully complete their degrees.
Renovation plans for the building are slated to be released later this year, according to the release.
