Drury, OTC enter academic agreement

Posted online
Ozarks Technical Community College and Drury University's College of Graduate and Continuing Studies have reached an agreement to help allied health students complete their education.

On Aug. 11, OTC President Hal Higdon and Drury President Todd Parnell met to certify the agreement, under which students will be able to complete allied health programs at OTC and transfer seamlessly into Drury's Bachelor of Science in Health Services program.

The OTC programs eligible for transfer are dental hygiene, emergency medical technician/paramedic, occupational therapy assistant, physical therapy assistant, medical laboratory technician, respiratory therapy and surgical technology.

"These programs allow students to be part of the work force while they complete their degrees," Parnell said in a news release.

The allied health agreement is the third between OTC and Drury's College of Graduate and Continuing Studies. The others are in elementary education and organizational studies.

"This kind of opportunity could be the deciding factor for many students who aren't sure if they will continue their education after OTC," Higdon said in the release. "We are thrilled to offer a way to make it easier for students to advance their knowledge, which will in turn provide them with better career options in the future."[[In-content Ad]]
