Drury University's new dean of admissions is very familiar with the university.
Dawn Hiles will begin in the role Sept. 8; she replaces Paul Carney, who is leaving the school to take a job as vice president of enrollment management and student affairs at Webster University in St. Louis.
Hiles currently serves as executive director of the Edward Jones Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation; she also has served as sales management team and development officer for Students in Free Enterprise and director of Drury's Master of Business Administration program.
The school will name an interim replacement for Hiles' position with the Edward Jones center in the near future.
"Dawn's grasp of immediate recruiting opportunities will allow her to impact the new recruiting cycle without delay," Todd Parnell, Drury president, said in a news release. "I have great confidence in Dawn's ability to provide effective and creative leadership for our capable admissions team."
Hiles has a bachelor's degree in marketing, management and administration from Indiana University and earned her MBA from Drury in 2006. She also is a member of Springfield Business Journal's 2009 20 Most Influential Women.
