Drury in top 10 on national college listings

Posted online
Drury University scores well for another year on U.S. News & World Report’s annual college rankings, to be published Aug. 27.

A preview of the 2008 rankings appeared on the publication’s Web site Saturday. Drury ties for 10th on the list of best Midwest regional universities, one spot lower than on the 2007 list. Missouri State University also is on that list, at No. 52, up from No. 59 last year.

Drury also places ninth on the list of “Great Schools, Great Prices” in the Midwest. Drury was No. 3 on that list last year.

Other area schools making appearances in U.S. News’ annual college report include Evangel University, which is profiled on the publication’s alphabetical list of liberal arts colleges; and Southwest Baptist University, which is profiled on the alphabetical list of third-tier Midwest universities.

Schools are ranked based on academic quality, peer assessment, retention, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, graduation rate performance and alumni giving rate.[[In-content Ad]]
