Drury University honored former communication professor and department chair Joe McAdoo on Oct. 29 by planting a tree in his honor in Shewmaker Plaza, outside the Shewmaker Communication Center. McAdoo taught for nearly 30 years in Drury’s communications department before retiring in 1996. He also spent 25 years writing his “Rusty Saber” column for Springfield Business Journal, authoring more than 1,700 columns for the paper. His contributions to Drury continue with the Joe P. McAdoo Endowed Scholarship Fund.
