Almost five months into its fiscal year, Drury University has received nearly $6 million in donations toward its Fortify the Future capital campaign.
Drury disclosed the total for the fiscal year, which started June 1, at a ceremony on Wednesday, according to a news release.
The donations include the following:
• Alice O. Coffman Trust, with a cash donation of $3.6 million to establish the Cleveland Newton Endowed Scholarship
• Bangs-Russell Foundation, undisclosed donation for Dr. Archie Russell Memorial Scholarship
• Alumni John and Crystal Beuerlein, undisclosed donation to support men's and women's swimming facility improvements
• James Blanton and the Patricia Blanton family, undisclosed donation for Patricia Jean (Herron) Blanton ’69 Endowed Scholarship
• Alumni Loren and Nancy Broaddus, undisclosed donation
• Alumni David and Sue Ann Beedle Childers, undisclosed donation for the David and Sue Ann Childers ’76/’77 Family Endowed Scholarship
• Alumnus and trustee Rob Dickerson, undisclosed donation
• Alumni Walt and Susan Robison George, undisclosed donation for the Joseph H. George Distinguished Lecture Series
• Alumni David and Billie Kay Farrar Gohn, undisclosed donation for endowed scholarship for students from West Plains High School
• Alumni Paul Stillwell and Mark Stillwell, undisclosed donation to establish endowment in honor of their father, Carl Stillwell
“These remarkable gifts reflect the power of a community united by purpose and belief in Drury’s mission,” said Melanie Earl-Replogle, Drury executive vice president of university advancement, in the release. “From major commitments that endow scholarships to annual gifts that sustain daily excellence, every donor plays a vital role in moving Drury forward. We are grateful for the trust and investment of those who believe in the promise of our students and the impact of a Drury education."
Drury introduced its $50 million Fortify the Future campaign in 2023.
