The new budget includes $55.4 million in expenditures, a 3.6 percent increase compared to last year. That figure was based on an increase in revenue that is expected to result from increased enrollment, higher occupancy rates in campus housing and fund-raising revenue.
The budget is the largest in the school’s history.
As of May 10, the university had seen a 13 percent increase in both applications and paid deposits in new students for the fall semester, according to a Drury news release. Gifts to the university are expected to reach $6.25 million this year, an increase of 38 percent from last year.
Meanwhile, Missouri State University's Board of Governors heard a presentation on MSU's proposed fiscal 2007 budget at its Thursday meeting. The board is scheduled to vote on the budget, which projects $61.5 million in operating revenue, at its June 16 meeting.[[In-content Ad]]
