San Francisco-based file sharing and storage company Dropbox announced on Wednesday a new service called Dropbox for Business.
Bloomberg reports Dropbox CEO Drew Houston More said more than four million businesses used Dropbox in 2012. The list includes 97 percent of Fortune 500 companies. Many of these companies found that people were already storing private data on Dropbox.
The service aims to provide a much higher level of security, giving a company's information technology administrators the ability to audit accounts and completely wipe clean remote folders. The added security would protect a company's integral private data, including financials and client lists.
Dropbox has 200 million users and records traffic of more than 1 billion files saved every day.
