The 5-year-old Downtown Pharmacy has closed.
Signage on the windows of the 655 S. Campbell Ave. pharmacy points to the closure and notifies customers that prescription records have been transferred to the Walgreens store at 1155 St. Louis St. Downtown Pharmacy's phone number now redirects to the Walgreens location, and other attempts to reach officials with the company were unsuccessful by deadline.
Pharmacist Charles David Kerr founded the 1,300-square-foot business in September 2015 with $100,000 in startup costs, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.
Downtown Pharmacy also opened a location at 222 E. Primrose St. near the street's intersection with South Avenue. Its Facebook page indicates the pharmacy is permanently closed; the most recent post was in January 2019. Kerr’s LinkedIn profile indicates he owned the Primrose Street pharmacy through April 2019.
The South Campbell Avenue pharmacy property is owned by Main Sail Enterprises LLC, according to Greene County assessor records. Kerr is listed as the organizer of the LLC in Missouri secretary of state filings.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
