Dow heads for 50th record high

U.S. stock futures rose, with the Dow industrials on track to reach the 50th record high of the year, as investors returned from the Christmas holiday in an upbeat mood.

The Wall Street Journal reports, about 90 minutes ahead of the open, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures gained 43 points, or 0.3 percent, to 16346.

The Dow rallied on Tuesday to post a fifth-straight gain and close at its 49th record high of the year. That is the most record highs in a year since the count of 69 reached in 1995.
