The weather might have been lovely throughout most of the country last week, but the mood on Wall Street was stormy.
CNNMoney reports the Dow plunged almost 200 points on Thursday, wiping out nearly all of its gains for the year. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq were also hit; both indices fell 1 percent. Major companies' stocks, including Apple, Google, Starbucks and Salesforce.com, also tumbled, losing more than 2 percent, the report states.
The stocks' drop came on the heels of the Commerce Department's Wednesday report showing the U.S. GDP was weaker in the first quarter than expected, renewing concerns that the economy is slowing, the report states.
