A Springfield developer recognized in the community for restoring some of the city’s oldest buildings was honored today for her work.

Nancy Dornan, who also is president of the Springfield Landmarks Preservation Trust, was given the Elizabeth and George Rozier Award at the Missouri Alliance for Historic Preservation’s 2007 Honor Awards in Jefferson City.

Dornan’s most recent work was the $9 million, 16-year restoration of the Gillioz Theatre in downtown Springfield. The project was completed in October.

Dornan and husband Tom also lead Historic Walnut Street Development, an effort to restore homes on West Walnut Street in Springfield.[[In-content Ad]]
