Working with the RIP Medical Debt organization, St. Louis-area churches raised funding to do away with nearly $13 million in medical debt.
RIP Medical Debt buys large amounts of debt for pennies on the dollar, before eliminating it. The group recently worked with Springfield late-night talk show “The Mystery Hour” to erase $2.7 million worth of medical debt in the Ozarks.
The St. Louis-area donations are slated to help more than 11,100 families in the city and county.
