Donald Trump and the GOP debate: Policy is not his point

Donald Trump might be the first post-policy candidate for U.S. president.

What that means, according to a New York Times report, is that Trump’s early support has little if anything to do with his positions on issues and policies. Rather, it seems to be “the Donald’s” style that’s raising his poll status.

Trump’s website has no issues page, and he’s given no policy address, the Times reports. Yet, he’s making an impression with his “Trumpisms” on a “great wall” to keep out illegal Mexican immigrants and on a “foolproof” plan to take down the Islamic State without sharing an ounce of detail.
