Donald Rumsfeld, former secretary of the Department of Defense, died Tuesday. He was 88.
The cause was multiple myeloma, according to a spokesperson.
Rumsfeld oversaw the Pentagon’s initial response to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. He served as Defense secretary under presidents George W. Bush and Gerald Ford.
