Discount retailers Dollar General Corp., Dollar Tree Inc. and Family Dollar reached a $1.2 million settlement over accusations of selling expired and sometimes obsolete products.
Dollar General will pay the bulk of the total, at $1.1 million, and agreed to stop selling obsolete motor oil.
Dollar Tree and Family Dollar will pay $100,000 for violating the state's bottle deposit law. All three companies were accused of selling expired over-the-counter drugs.
