The U.S. Department of Justice is investigating racism allegations at the Kansas City Police Department.
Media reports indicate the department's number of Black officers was lower than it had been decades ago and that Black officers were disproportionately disciplined by KCPD.
At least 18 officers reportedly exited because of racism over a 15-year period.
