Does this drink make me look fat?

Posted online
The answer is most likely yes.

CNN reports, new guidelines from the World Health Organization recommend consuming less than 5 percent of total daily calories from added sugars. For an adult at a normal body mass index, 5 percent would be around 25 grams of sugar – or six teaspoons.

Using data from Beverage Industry Magazine's 2013 State of the Industry Report, CNN has compiled a series of interactive slides outlining how much liquid sugar Americans consume.

For example, one 20-ounce bottle of Coca-Cola has the same amount of sugar as eating six Little Debbie Swiss Rolls. And soda isn't the only culprit. A 15.2-ounce bottle of Minute Maid 100 percent apple juice has 49 grams of sugar, the same as eating 10 Oreo cookies. Arizona Green Tea has 51 grams of sugar or 20 Hershey's Kisses and a Monster Energy drink has 54 grams, the equivalent of eating 3.5 cups of Frosted Flakes.
