Dodgers hit with $36.2M tax, Yanks with $15.7M

The Los Angeles Dodgers must pay Major League Baseball's highest luxury tax for the fourth straight year.

The Dodgers owe $36.2 million, raising the team's five-year total to almost $150 million.

The New York Yankees are second with $15.7 million owed. That's the lowest amount the team has owed since 2011.

The taxes fund player benefits. Other funding is given to teams that do not meet the tax threshold.
