Disney's interactive media unit to lay off several hundred

Walt Disney Co.'s interactive media unit is preparing to lay off several hundred people, despite a strong launch for its video game "Infinity," according to people close to the company.

Cuts to Disney Interative, which has some 3,000 employees, are expected to begin after Disney released its quarterly financial results Wednesday, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The unit has undergone multiple rounds of layoffs in recent years as it struggled to reach profitability.
