Disney's former studios to be revived as KC museum

Posted online
The birthplace of America's favorite cartoon mouse is about to get a facelift.

The Kansas City Business Journal reports a Kansas City nonprofit group, Thank You Walt Disney Inc., is looking to convert the historic Laugh-O-Gram Studios into an interactive museum and digital production studio. Plans call for converting the first floor into a theater where historic cartoons produced by the Laugh-O-Gram team will be screened, and a section of the building's second floor where Disney and his fellow animators worked will be restored as much as possible to original conditions.
