Disney today announced it will buy several portions of 21st Century Fox in a deal valued at $52.4 billion in stock.
Through the purchase, Disney would gain Fox's movie studios, network Nat Geo, Asian pay-TV operator Star TV, stakes in Sky and Hulu, and regional sports networks.
The announcement follows Comcast's decision to drop its bid for the Fox assets.
