Disney sued for replacing American workers with foreigners

Posted online
The Walt Disney Co. has been hit with two class-action suits alleging Americans were illegally replaced by foreign workers.

Former employees Leo Perrero and Dena Moore were laid off in January 2015 from their information technology jobs at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla.

According to the complaints, they were told they had 90 days to train their replacements or they weren't eligible for bonuses or severance packages. Their replacements, according to the lawsuits, were foreigners on H-1B visas, the most common visa for high-skilled foreign workers.

The lawsuits allege Disney and two global consulting companies, HCL and Cognizant, colluded to break the law. The complaints allege 300 American workers lost their jobs through the action.
