Disney required to make offer for Sky if Fox deal proceeds

The U.K. Takeover Panel on Thursday said Walt Disney must make an offer for London-based Sky if its proposed acquisition of assets from 21st Century Fox proceeds.

Fox already has offered to buy the 61 percent stake in Sky it doesn't already own. Comcast also has considered making an offer.

The panel indicated Disney must make an offer of at least $15.25 per share within 28 days of buying the Fox assets.
