Walt Disney Co. posted its first quarterly loss since 2001.
The net loss came to nearly $5 billion as the majority of the entertainment company's business segments were adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The company reported it now has 60.5 million paid subscribers of its streaming service Disney+. That hit Disney's goal of 60 million-90 million subscribers by 2024, four years early.
