Farm families in 29 Missouri counties, including Greene, are eligible for emergency physical loss loans to recover from January’s ice storm under a U.S. Department of Agriculture declaration.

The department also named 20 additional counties as contiguous disaster areas. Farm families in these areas could be eligible for loan assistance: Bates, Benton, Boone, Callaway, Cedar, Cooper, Dent, Douglas, Henry, Iron, Jefferson, Lincoln, Montgomery, Morgan, St. Charles, St. Louis, Taney, Texas, Vernon and Washington counties.

For more information or to apply for a loan, contact the Greene County Farm Service Agency at (417) 831-5246 or the department’s nearest Farm Service Agency. A list of Missouri agencies by county is available at disaster.fsa.usda.gov/wherapply.htm.
