A franchise location of Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Dirty Dough is closing after launching last year.
The Dirty Dough franchise, which operates at 2515 S. Campbell Ave., Ste. 100, in The Creek, announced in a Sept. 15 Facebook post that Sept. 20 would be its last day in business.
Reached this morning, franchisee Isaac Aldridge said his wife, Emily, is set to undergo major surgery. He has set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for the surgery in which Emily is scheduled to have a kidney removed later this month.
"We're basically just at a place where because of my wife's health and some other kind of personal family stuff, it's not a time where we can operate the business going forward," he said. "We're hoping that we can sell the business. That would be ideal. We'd love for it to keep going and keep selling cookies to Springfield."
Aldridge noted he’s working on officially listing the business for sale.
The Aldridges opened the Springfield Dirty Dough store in June 2024, according to past reporting. The store remains Dirty Dough's sole location in the market, according to its website.
The company specializes in cookies loaded with toppings and filled with stuffings.
