DirecTV told to pull Rob Lowe ads after Comcast complains

Posted online
DirecTV's ad campaign featuring Rob Lowe and his various doppelgangers might have had some folks laughing so hard they fell off their couches, but the Better Business Bureau is not amused.

According to reporting by CNNMoney, the BBB's National Advertising Division agreed with a Comcast complaint that the ads are inaccurate in claiming DirecTV offers better service and more programming than cable service providers, among others. The board is recommomending the ads be pulled.

DirecTV is appealing the decision, claiming the ads are so "outlandish" that no "reasonable" person would believe the claims but also has ended the campaign because it has "moved on," according to CNNMoney.
