Joette Pelster, director of the Coterie Theatre in Kansas City, died Nov. 25. She was 71.
Pelster, who led the youth theater since 1993, died shortly after announcing her retirement plans.
During Pelster’s tenure, the organization's annual budget grew to $1.6 million from $600,000.
