Dire Obamacare predictions fall flat

Despite initial resistance to the Affordable Care Act and the rough launch of its website, it appears a lot of the naysayers predicting the inevitable collapse of Obamacare were wrong.
 
Bloomberg Businessweek takes a look at the past year of Obamacare statistics as compiled by various research and industry groups, and the numbers show the ACA is performing quite well. More people enrolled than expected, the uninsured rate plummeted and plenty of younger people queued up and bought health insurance.
 
Now, the gloomy prediction of insurance premiums "skyrocketing" by as much as 100 percent also has been disproved. Data released by PricewaterhouseCoopers' Health Research Institute show ACA premiums are expected to go up 7.5 percent, "well below the double-digit increases many feared," the HRI states.
