Roman Catholic Diocese of Springfield–Cape Girardeau Bishop Edward Rice released a report showing its expenditures settling allegations of clergy abuse over the last 30 years.
The Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau spent over $700,000 on settlements, legal fees and investigation costs, according to the report.
The report named 16 priests the diocese found had credible accusations of child abuse.
