To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Digital Monitoring Products today announced plans to expand its headquarters in Partnership Industrial Center to the tune of $7 million and create 65 new jobs.
Mark Hillenburg, DMP’s executive director of marketing, said the company broke ground today on an expansion project to add:
- 36,000 square feet of warehouse and manufacturing space;
- 28,000 square feet of engineering, training development and marketing space on two floors on the Kearney Street-facing side of the building; and
- 8,000 square feet of technical support and customer service space on the north side.
The building currently sits at around 120,000 square feet, he said.
With architecture work by Buxton Kubik Dodd Inc., the expansion is expected to be completed in summer 2016, Hillenburg said, noting the jobs would be added over a two-year period. The company currently employs 280, of which 230 work in Springfield, he said.
“For the last 40 years, on average, we have moved or expanded every four years. It’s time to grow again,” Hillenburg said, noting the company grew revenue over 15 percent last year and plans to expand operations into international markets. He declined to disclose revenue figures for the privately owned company.
A news release from the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce indicates chamber, City Utilities and city of Springfield officials helped secure an incentives packages for DMP, which includes help from the already established Enhanced Enterprise Zone from the city and Missouri Works incentives from the state. Hillenburg said he didn’t know the value of the incentives.
The 1975-founded company manufactures electronics security and monitoring products, such as panels, sensors and software. From its Springfield headquarters, DMP sells directly to alarm companies, according to the release.[[In-content Ad]]
