Dick's Sporting Goods intends to shed some of its Foot Locker stores following the acquisition of the company this year.
The company did not disclose how many Foot Locker stores would shutter.
"We need to clean out the garage," said Ed Stack, Dick's executive chair, in an interview with CNBC. "Everything we're doing is there to protect 2026 and just kind of do this one time."
