Dick's prepares bid for Golfsmith's US stores

Dick's Sporting Goods is preparing to make a bid for the U.S. business of bankrupt Golfsmith International Holdings, people familiar with the matter told Reuters.

Bids for the company owned by Omers Private Equity were due yesterday. However, Dick's was given an extension until Tuesday morning to submit its offer, the people said.

Worldwide Golf Shops is said to be the other bidder.
