Dick's considers buying Sports Authority stores

Dick’s Sporting Goods announced yesterday its interest in purchasing Sports Authority stores after the competing retailer went bankrupt.

Once America's largest sporting-goods chain, Sports Authority last week filed for bankruptcy, citing $1.1 billion in debt and declining sales.

The company announced it would seek buyers for 140 stores slated to close.
