Dickerson Park Zoo

A Wild Idea for Corporate Events

Posted online

Dickerson Park Zoo, in collaboration with Friends of the Zoo, is offering a wild and adventurous option with a Zoo Buyout. A Zoo Buyout is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a chance for an organization to have the zoo all to themselves. While one corporate event tends to be strikingly similar to another, a Zoo Buyout is a chance to throw an event in a unique location. A Zoo Buyout is sure to create an experience that will be memorable.

“Imagine having the entire zoo to yourselves for an after-hours company retreat, event or picnic,” said Joey Powell, PR and Marketing Director for Dickerson Park Zoo and Friends of the Zoo. “It’s not just an event. It’s an experience.”

Zoo Buyouts may be used for adult-only events and as a family-friendly venue. “Most of our Zoo Buyouts have been family-friendly. No matter the event, we help organizations plan a safe, unique experience, which appeals to all ages,” said Powell.

Those who book a Zoo Buyout will pay a flat fee based on the size of the group and be able to enjoy exclusive access to the zoo’s attractions like the Ozark Fence Giraffe Deck and the Volt Credit Union Petting Zoo. The amphitheater and Crocker Conservation Station are also available if meeting space is needed.

The zoo café is open for the Zoo Buyouts. The zoo event team is flexible and works closely with each organization to customize every aspect of a Zoo Buyout, including food and drink options. Whether a company wants to cover the price of the food, provide a snack to participants, or allow guests to buy their own food, the zoo will work within corporate budgets. A Zoo Buyout will accommodate specific needs.

Zoo Buyouts sell out quickly; so, it is recommended to book as early as possible.

“It’s just a really special way to treat your team to an amazing experience,” said Powell.
