Kansas City-based Nostrum Laboratories Inc. issued a recall for metformin, a type 2 diabetes medication.
The medication could possibly be contaminated with unsafe levels of nitrosamine, or NDMA, a potentially cancer-causing compound.
The impacted product is packaged in high-density polyethylene bottles of 100 tablets.
