The meeting begins at 10 a.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers.
Project developer Cushman Properties will provide details about the Pinnacle Falls Entertainment District and Resort, which is expected to open in 2009. Plans for the project were first revealed Sept. 14.
The European village-themed development would be located on Branson’s west side on 308 acres along Highway 376. Plans call for an aquarium, an indoor water park, shopping, dining, lodging, interactive fountains, a river running through the district’s center, an echo wishing well, a glockenspiel tower and nighttime entertainment.
The first phase is expected to cost about $250 million and would include construction of the aquarium.
David Cushman of Cushman Properties says he will seek tax increment financing from the city for a portion of the development, according to a city news release. A TIF would allow a portion of the district’s sales tax collections to be used to pay off bonds that finance certain aspects of the project.
According to the developer, a feasibility study showed that Pinnacle Falls could bring more than $150 million in sales and attract more than four million people, 400,000 of whom would be new visitors to Branson.
