The Branson Board of Aldermen gave first-round approval Monday night to a $100 million, 25-story multiuse development proposed by the same company behind Branson Landing.
The board voted 4–2 on the Point Entertainment Complex proposal, which would include a hotel, condominiums, restaurant, spa, office space, retail space, parking garage, conference center and a classic car museum. The project would be located at highways 65 and 248 and would be developed by HCW Development, also the developer of Branson Landing.
The complex would be the tallest building in southwest Missouri, according to the proposal.
The board will give second reading and a final vote on the proposal Sept. 25.
Also at the meeting, the board gave first-reading approval to a bill that would increase city water and sewer rates Oct. 1.
The increase – Branson’s first in 20 years – would raise residential customer bills by about 17 percent and commercial customer bills by 25 percent.
