Developer plans hotel in historic STL building

The architect and developer that purchased a historic St. Louis property is planning to convert the building into a hotel.

New Orleans-based John T. Campo & Associates intends to renovate the 125-year-old Chemical Building in downtown St. Louis.

The 17-story building most recently was used as an office building with retail on the ground floor. It's been mostly vacant for years.
