Developer plans $700M project at site of shuttered mall in KC area

Kansas City, Kansas-based Eastside Innovation is planning a $700 million project at the site of the shuttered Indian Springs Mall.

Eastside Innovation was selected by the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas, to develop the 45-acre site and another 45 acres to the south of it.

The Kansas City, Kansas, mall lost its last anchor store in 2001, and the property was demolished in 2016. Uses now include facilities by the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority and others.

Eastside Innovation's project plans include apartments, townhomes, a hotel and a grocery store.
