The developer of a shopping center that's under construction in Lebanon and officials with the municipality are teasing the planned entry of the Pancheros Mexican Grill restaurant chain.
Pancheros, a Coralville, Iowa-based chain of more than 70 restaurants, has leased 2,460 square feet at 1555 S. Jefferson Ave. in Lebanon Marketplace II, according to an Oct. 14 Facebook post by developer Jared Commercial & Management LLC. The post indicates the restaurant is "coming soon."
The city of Lebanon reposted the news from Jared Commercial & Management.
"You guessed it, Lebanon – the rumors were spicy, and now they’re true," Lebanon city officials said in the Oct. 14 post. "Pancheros Mexican Grill is joining our growing community."
A spokesperson for Pancheros did not respond to a request for comment by deadline. The Lebanon location is not currently listed on the company's website, which shows current Missouri restaurants in Columbia, Jefferson City and Rolla. A restaurant in Springfield is in the works, according to past reporting.
Pancheros' website shows a build-your-own style for burritos, food bowls, tacos and other menu offerings.
