Developer adds 17-story condos across lake

HCW Development Co., in partnership with Lebanon-based Evergreen Investments, will begin construction this summer on Branson Landing View, a 17-story, 131-unit condominium hotel along the shore of Lake Taneycomo and across the water from Branson Landing.

Rick Huffman, managing partner with HCW, said the project should be complete in early 2008, though one-, two- and three-bedroom condos will be up for sale May 1. Huffman said anticipated condo sales could reach $50 million. Units will be available for long-term or short-term, nightly rentals. Rental prices have not been set.

“We believe there’s a market for condo hotel units on the water in Branson,” said G. Kim McDonald, president of marketing at HCW. “You’ve got a great view of the fountains and the shopping area – a unique product for the area.”

The bottom five levels of the building will house 200 parking spaces, while the top 12 levels will house the condos. Condos will range from 550 square feet to 1,800 square feet in size.

The complex will feature a swimming pool, exercise room and marina.

A contractor for the development has not been selected. The architect is Butler, Rosenbury & Partners Inc.

Huffman would not disclose an estimated construction cost.

The one-acre project site was formerly an old pier and a “total eyesore,” McDonald said. He’s hoping the novelty of a high-rise building on the water will help enhance the lake’s shoreline image.

The project is not the first residential development to take advantage of the Branson Landing view. River Bend Place, a $30 million, 122-unit, 15-building complex, also is under development along Lake Taneycomo, with completion scheduled for May.[[In-content Ad]]
